How's it going folks?!

I feel like a big time stranger to this blogging world! I just have to update and say that we LOVE our home! I hope everyone is loving their home too! If not, what's bugging you or what went wrong? I feel so blessed that we are so young and fortunate to have built our first home.  We had our 30 day fixes and everything was minor thank goodness. Did anyone have anything crazy happen after their move in? I hope I'm not jinxing myself!! Our last and final neighbor moved in next door and she also has two dogs. Our fence situation just got more urgent! I woke up the past two days and she had her dogs going to the bathroom in our backyard!! I guess that's the downfall to a townhouse though! We're having our fence put in ASAP--we were going to attempt to do it ourselves since boyfriend and all this fireman friends are pretty handy but we need it done NOW! I really do have to say though, little things aside we definitely got lucky with building. I am so pleased with our sales rep and PM I just sent an email to their bosses about how they want above and beyond what was expected. We definitely were cautious at first after reading some horror stories but I'm so glad we went with our gut feeling! Bottom line is we are thrilled and so pleased! We have slowly been adding furniture and when everything Is put together I will be adding pictures! Can't wait to hear about everyone's progress!

I'm in a rut..

I have found myself to be a in decorating rut. I would really like to paint soon but everyone is advising to wait a year. I can understand the 30 days but a WHHHOLLLEEEE year!?!? Ill never be able to hold out that long. I'm bored with the white walls and no hanging decor. Is there anyone out there that didn't want and regrets it? Our 30 day fixes were delayed until this week so I'm hoping after the few nail pops we have get fixed I can convince Chris to let me put a little color on our walls!!

Landscaping photos

So last week our sod was installed and our flower beds were dug. This week they have planted a few (ugly) shrubs but ill give them a shot. I planted a few tulips, etc to add a little color. I'm super busy so this a a quick post!

Backsplash!

So I did this backsplash job myself. I have NEVER done anything close to this so it was quite a task! Instead of using mortar, I used these adhesive mats and they were a godsend! It eliminated such a messy step! It still needs some touching up, but ill get to that when I get a chance to catch my breath! Sod photos to come maybe tomorrow, when I got home tonight it was dark! Photos are of the tiles I bought, the adhesive mats, the backsplash pre tile, backsplash up pre grouted and finally grouted!

Now I know...

I've always wondered why you hardly ever are updated after someone moves into their new house by their blog...THEY'RE TOO BUSY!! I feel like every time I turn around there is something else to be unpacked or put into place! We have our 30 day on Friday so that's SUPER exciting...what's even better is I have nothing bad to report! I did our backsplash last week. It definitely isn't professionally done, but hey--I did my best! Also, our sod was put in today!! Yay! I'll post pictures of the yard when I can! I'm excited to plant some flowers that's for sure!!

I've been a little busy!!!

Whoa have things been crazy! I'm finally back to getting normal amounts of sleep and not staying up all hours of the night putting things together! It's been exhausting! Here's a few photos more to come when I get a chance to take some! I have hung blinds and curtain rods, put together our stools for the island and breakfast bar. We also purchased our fridge, washer and dryer right after settlement and that was delivered two days later. We bought a sofa and hair last week and we picked that up over the weekend. Everything is coming together nicely! Very slowly, but nicely! :)

5 days in!

40 hours into living in our new home I locked myself out!! Chris was at work over an hour away so our AWESOME PM came by and ended up sawing our door handle off in the garage to the foyer. Don't ask why I locked that door because I have no idea! We had our appliances delivered Wednesday and one load of wash in, we discovered a pin hole leak in the drain hose!! We called Home Depot and they had a service company come out Friday am to replace. Guess what? Their replacement line cracked outside as they were walking in. Long story short I ended up just going to HD and taking the one off the model and fixing it myself! Anyways, so far, we love our Ryan Home. No complaints here :) pictures to come once it doesn't look like a cardboard compactor exploded in our house!

We did it!!

We got to our appointment 45 minutes early, thank god because we were taken right back and finished by the time of our original appointment time! Yay!

TOMORROW!!!

I cannot believe how fast this process has gone by. I've always been jealous of anyone's closing post so this feels especially good :)

We're still on...

So far, everything is looking good for Monday at 1! Our final approvals have come in and that's a huge relief. If NVR makes Monday easy breezy I will be the happiest girl on the planet. Cross your fingers for us and hopefully everything looks good on Saturday at our Pre settlement meeting!

6 days!

6 days until closing. Unbelievable how fast time has flown by!! Good news came on today. Our new estimated closing cost is just short of $4k less then we originally anticipated!!! Woohoo!!!!! This makes us super excited! :) now we just have to hope it stays that way come Friday when we check in before getting our check. I did some more DIY decorations this weekend. Some animal sihlouettes if our furbabies and a little welcome sign! Happy Monday!!

9 days

We're set to close on the 11th at 1pm. And our Pre settlement demo is on the
9th. We went by last week and had a water leak in the basement from a drywall nail through a pipe. That's all fixed, thank goodness! When we went by yesterday they were doing some final paint touchups and punch out details. We're getting very excited! The last photos are some DIY projects I've been doing :)
